This is Madame du Barry, painted in 1782.The poor dear was executed by guillotine during the French Revolution - Savage! Features the slogan roughly painted digitally by us at P&R.

PRODUCTION INFO

This artwork is produced using a Giclée fine art printing process using high quality tight-weave 400gsm cotton canvas. This is then stretched over a wooden frame milled from European kiln dried knotless pine. Everything is assembled and finished by hand to the very highest standard.

Canvas Only Version (Printed Illusion Frame) - This version of our canvas print features a beautiful printed illusion frame/border effect that we actually print onto the same canvas as the artwork, creating a convincing optical illusion. This print is stretched on to a canvas frame that is 1.5" (38mm) thick with the printed border/illusion-frame effect continuing and wrapped onto the sides of the piece. This version has no real wooden frame - just a printed effect.

Box Frame Version - The stretched canvas is beautifully concealed inside a plain solid wood box frame, with the canvas sitting 5mm from the wooden edge, creating a lovely floating border. The finished piece sits 1.5" (38mm) deep from the wall. It does not feature the ornate printed fame effect on the canvas.
