This original 18th century artwork is of James Caulfeild who was the 4th Viscount of Charlemont, Ireland. He was described as a "cultivated man with literary and artistic tastes", so we'd like to think he would approve of the artistic vandalism we have added to his portrait.
The beautiful green frame you see is not as it appears, it is actually printed onto the same canvas as the artwork which creates a convincing optical illusion.
This artwork is produced using a Giclée fine art printing process using high quality tight-weave 400gsm cotton canvas. This is then stretched over a wooden frame milled from European kiln dried knotless pine. Everything is assembled and finished by hand to the very highest standard.
This frame is 1.5" (38mm) thick with the orange "spray-paint" and green frame printing effects continuing and wrapped onto the sides of the piece.
